We are a group of final year Civil Engineering students, passionate about driving innovation within the energy industry.
The Tent Mountain Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (TM-PHES) Capstone Project aims to develop a pumped hydro storage facility in Crowsnest Pass, enhancing Alberta’s energy grid with up to 16 hours of storage. Focused on sustainability and efficient resource use, the project covers the design of reservoirs, water containment, and risk mitigation. Detailed feasibility studies, including water balance, hydrological modelling, and climate impact assessments, support the project's design against future climatic extremes. Operational and economic analyses affirm the project's resilience, advocating for its progression to detailed design.
